The Nvidia Shield Tablet K1 is bound to get Android 6.0 Marshmallow this month, but this month is past its mid point and still no trace of it. That, unless you count the hands on video below, showing the slate with this OS on board.
The Shield Tablet K1 came about a month ago, with the promise of getting Marshmallow as soon as possible. The video below shows a sneak peak of Marshmallow on Tablet K1, with the brand new app permissions in the mix, as well as Google Now on tap. There’s a vertical drawer for the launcher and search bar and Nvidia offers its very own cloud gaming service dubbed GeForce Now.
MicroSD cards will also be used as internal storage for the tablet, courtesy of the new software. An Nvidia-only feature here is a new camera app, that relies on the K1 processor for extra enhancements and cool effects added to the photos. The same software update should arrive on the original Shield Tablet, but that’ll probably go into 2016.
