Samsung is listing new User Agent profiles for two brand new tablets, codenamed SM-T705 and SM-T700, raising hope that they may finally be those long awaited AMOLED models. The UA profiles reveal that these devices run Android 4.4 KitKat and support 2560 x 1600 pixel resolutions.
A while ago we saw the SM-T700 model being leaked with a 8.4 inch AMOLED display on board. This can’t be a certainty, so there’s no way to tell what kind of display we’re dealing with, till a more meaty leak comes. Both units got WiFi operation certificates this week and it’s very likely that the T705 is actually the LTE version of the T700.
Certifications and user agent profiles usually mean that we’re getting pretty close to launch time. An 8.4 inch AMOLED tablet sounds very good, but it would certainly cannibalize the Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 model, with the same high resolution and a LCD panel. Who would buy that over the AMOLED unit? Another tablet supposed to feature this type of panel is the SM-T800, also unannounced and packing a 10.5 inch screen.
