Apple is expected to announce the fifth gen 9.7 inch iPad in September, while the next gen iPad Mini is expected to be released later on, as it’s still being adjusted.
Upstream suppliers hare finished preparing production for the new 9.7 inch iPad, so it doesn’t seem there will be a delay of the device. Aside from a Retina Display, the iPad 5 is expected to feature a slimmer bezel design, for a bigger viewing area and also its number of LED tubes has been reduced from two to one. Battery life has also improved reportedly.
There’s no mass production schedule from Apple yet for the suppliers, that are only handling pilot production right now. Sources expect Apple to give the shipment estimates at the end of July or early August. Apple is still considering if they’ll implement a Retina Display on the iPad Mini or no, so the product has been delayed to the end of Q4, apparently.
