After selling out the Eee Transformer a bit after its launch, Asus is preparing two new tablet PCs for the May-July timeframe. The new models are the 10 inch Eee Pad Slider EP102 and the 7 inch Eee Pad MeMo EP71.

EP102 will feature a dual core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor, as for the EP71, this model will use a Qualcomm CPU. Asustek intends to ship 2 million tablet PCs this year, according to company CEO and president Jerry Shen. Meanwhile, industry sources are claiming that the company is also aiming at launching Nvidia Tegra 3 quad core slates in the future.

Let’s see how this plays out till the end of the year, but Asus looks like it’s ready to battle the iPad right now…
