It’s getting pretty cold outside, so it’s probably time to stay in bed and read a good book. It may also help that Amazon launched a new version of the Kindle Paperwhite, priced at $130 and coming with 6 months of unlimited reading.

The previous Paperwhite was a big hit and Amazon want to capitalize on it. The new version fixes some of the issues of the predecessor and makes it smoother, so the screen isn’t below the outer bezel anymore. Amazon also added an extra LED to the built in light system, for a total of 5 LEDs, that will aid your reading. The product is water resistant, so hurray for bath tub reading.

The first Paperwhite had 4 GB of on board storage, but the new version has 8 GB of storage and an option to upgrade o 32 GB, for an extra price. The screen size stays at 6 inches and the pixel density is 300 ppi. Bluetooth is also here and you can use Audible to listen to your fave audio books. Amazon also added Audible Originals as a means of getting a better experience.

The best part of the experience is the 6 month subscription to Kindle Unlimited, which is usually $30 separately. This service gives you access to a million books for zero pay thanks to the offer. After the trial expires you will pay $9.99 to keep the service. Amazon is going to update the Paperwhite home screen and also add personalization settings. The price of the new Kindle Paperwhite starts at $130, with ads on the lockscreen.

It costs $20 to remove them and preorders are available now. Shipments start on November 7th.
