ZTE had a pretty solid booth at MWC 2023 and the two stars of the booth were definitely their smart glasses, but also the new ZTE Nubia Pad 3D tablet. The slate is pretty interesting, because it converts 2D images to 3D.

Nubia Pad 3D is created as a joint venture with Leica Inc, a company that focuses on 3D display hardware and content. The Nubia Pad 3D packs a 12.4 inch IPS LCD display with 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate, plus 16:10 aspect ratio. The panel has a proprietary DLB layer, which was invented by Leica Inc and uses the Leia 3D Lightfield mode. It can turn regular 2D content to 3D in real time via the onboard conversion software.

We have dual 8 megapixel front cameras, used to track the user’s face to provide a glasses free 3D viewing experience. It goes beyond viewing 3D content, you can also take 3D photos and videos, plus scan objects in 3D with these two cameras. There are also dual 16 megapixel back cameras for 3D capture. Specs include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor, 128 or 256 GB of storage and a microSD card slot.

There’s a 9700 mAh battery inside with 33W fast charge and we also have Android 13 as the OS. The product will be on preorder from March 22th and it will be on open sale from April 11th. We don’t have a price yet.
