Sony debuted today at MWC 2015 the successor to the Xperia Z2 Tablet, a 10.1 inch waterproof tablet with powerful specs. The newcomer is called Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet and comes with an exposed microUSB port, without a lid.
The product integrates a 10.1 inch 2560 x 1600 pixel display with the enhancements of the Sony Triluminous technology and X Reality Mobile engine. The slate also comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, an octa core 64 bit unit, accompanied by an Adreno 430 GPU and 3 GB of RAM. Other features include 32 GB of storage, an 8 megapixel back camera with Sony Exmor RS technology and a front 5 MP shooter with wide angle lens.
There’s 4G LTE connectivity on board and a 6000 mAh battery under the hood, that Sony promises it will offer up to 17 hours of video playback. The product is IP68 certified, meaning it can take dust and it can sunk in 1.5 meter deep water for 30 minutes. The device measures only 6.1 mm in thickness and weighs 395 grams. It has a metal frame and durable glass embedded into the case.
Xperia Z4 Tablet comes in black or white and runs Android 5.0 Lollipop with Sony’s UI on top. It supports Hi Res acoustics and digital noise canceling and Sony also announced today an accessory for this device. We’re talking about the Sony BKB50 Bluetooth keyboard, that includes a QWERTY keyboard, touchpad, projector and printer ports.
