During today’s event at MWC 2014, Huawei unveiled a bunch of interesting devices, including the likes of Huawei MediaPad M1, a very nice looking 8 inch slate. We were there to check it out, through our sister site Mobilissimo.ro and its reporter, Zsolt Tamassy. Let’s see what this newcomer brings!

We’re dealing with a model that looks quite a bit like the HTC One, I have to say. It has two front side speakers, one at the top and one at the bottom, plus an 8 inch 1280 x 800 pixel display. The screen is an IPS with good view angles and also at the front there’s a 1 MP camera. At the back we’ve got an 8 MP shooter with no flash and the case of the MediaPad M1 is made of aviation grade aluminum.

This is a very light, thin and durable product, that weighs 329 grams and packs a quad core 1.6 GHz processor. Huawei offers 8 GB of storage, 1 GB of RAM, a microSD card slot and Android 4.2.2 as the OS. I spotted a phone call item on the screen, so maybe this model also does calls. Its 4800 mAh battery also sounds very good.
