At Google I/O 2012 the search engine giant announced that among the first models to receive the Jelly Bean update this month there will be the Galaxy Nexus, Nexus and Motorola Xoom. The later has began receiving soak tests for the Android 4.1 release, in the US WiFi version.

This “Nexus” slate was the first one with Honeycomb on board, so it means a great deal to both Google and developers. It appears that the Xoom will receive Android 4.1.1, that we’ve seen arriving as an update to the Nexus 7 and installed via AOSP on the ASUS Transformer Pad 300 and some other tablet models. Moto started sending emails to forum members on the Motorola community, inviting them to participate in the soak tests for Jelly Bean.

Only US WiFi Xooms are mentioned and feedback is required, so they know if the software is ready to deploy or not. If everything goes well, the update will arrive by the end of the or next week at the latest. So, are you ready to soak? It sure pays to own a Xoom these days…
