Microsoft has just scored big points for PR, after ranking first in the annual J.D. Power Study related to customer satisfaction. The study was focused on tablets and the Microsoft Surface is actually placed first in this top.
This is the first win for Microsoft in the 6 years that the study has been going on. The Surface slates earned a total of 855 points out of 1000, which is an excellent score. The J.D. Power US Tablet Satisfaction Study measures customer satisfaction by metrics like performance (28%), ease of operation (22%), features (22%), styling and design (17%) and cost (11%).
2238 tablet owners were questioned about their own devices, that they had owned for less than a year. The study went on between October and December 2016 and awarded Microsoft with the “among the best” distinction, at 855 points, while Apple scored 849. Those questioned praised the features and styling of the Microsoft products. Preloaded apps, Internet connectivity and accessories were also lauded.
A stat seems to be clearest indicator of success here: the Microsoft Surface stylus was used at a 48% rate in comparison with the industry average of 27%, while the add on keyboard had a 51% usage rate, amazing compared to the 14% industry average.
