Microsoft wasn’t shy at all to compare its Surface Book with the MacBook Pro, when it announced the laptop earlier this month. That device made many people interested, since it’s Microsoft’s first laptop and looks like a very solid machine. Today we learn what the pricing of the top tier 1 TB model will be.

At $3.199, this model is priced like the latest MacBook Pro, in its full featured version. Surface Book is a laptop/tablet hybrid, that comes with the best hardware possible at the moment. Customers could initially start preordering this device with SSD capacities up to 512 GB and an Intel i7 processor, priced at $2,699. Then the 1 TB version came, with an even higher price.

Surface Book preorders are expected to ship over the next 7 to 8 weeks, but the 1 TB model will only ship next year. The product comes with a Surface Pen included, a 13.5 inch PixelSense touchscreen with a crazy 3000 x 2000 pixel resolution and Windows 10 in the Pro version. Why do I have a hunch that Lenovo or Dell will launch a similar product with lesser pricing?
