It’s just the end of July, but apparently Microsoft is already thinking about the “back to school” time period and has prepared an ad related to that. The ad promotes the Surface 3 tablet and it’s shown below.
It’s shown in the hands of college students, so it appears to an older demographic than regular high school goes for example. We see people writing serious papers, converting handwritten notes to text, highlighting their notes and even composing music on the fly, with a piece of software that I’d really like to know. The Surface 3 has been up for purchase ever since May and it’s a 10.8 inch Full HD tablet and comes bundled with 1 year of Office 365 Personal.
There’s also a Surface Pen being shown, but that’s sold separately. Other features include a full size USB 3.0 port, microSD card slot, an 8 megapixel back camera (thus the crisp lecture recording) and a front 3.5 MP cam. Microsoft sells the Surface 3 for $499, in the 2 GB RAM/64 GB storage version, or $599 in the 128 GB storage/4 GB RAM version.
The device runs Windows 8.1 for now, but it will get the Windows 10 update in just two or three weeks.
