However, Microsoft finally brief us on Windows 10 free update matter today. We get to know that the free licence will be offered just to the actual users who are using a notebook/desktop with a genuine license of Windows 7, 8 or 8.1.

Microsoft also let us know that those who are using at the moment Windows 10 Technical Preview without a real licence won’t be eligilbe for this free-update offer. In the case that you’re a Windows Insider member, you can stay in the testing program with just a single rule, and that is to allow all the upcoming updates of the system.

Therefor, just those users who are owning an actual Windows 7/8/8.1 license will be eligible to update their OS to the new version, free for one year.
