Indian company Micromax has just debuted the Canvas Tab P680 tablet, a device that runs Android Lollipop and offers an 8 inch diagonal. It also has dual speakers and all of those and more are available at just $145. Now let’s see what other specs this unit has.
The slate debuted in India today and it provides an 8 inch WXGA IPS screen, with anti glare coating, plus a quad core 1.3 GHz processor and 1 GB of RAM. These specs place the device in the midrange part of the spectrum. Also on board are 16 GB of storage, a microSD card slot and a 5 megapixel main camera with LED flash. A 2 MP front shooter and dual SIM slots round up the list, together with WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 and 3G.
USB OTG is here as well, plus a 4000 mAh battery. The product is up for purchase at online partners from August 22nd. While we don’t know the maker of the P680 CPU, I can only assume it’s MediaTek. Locally, this tablet competes with the likes of Dell Venue 7, iBall Slide 3G and ASUS FonePads.
