It would appear that Dutch owners of a LG G Pad 8.3 tablet had a surprise this morning when they checked out their devices. They got the update to Android 4.4 KitKat and this can be installed either OTA or via the PC.

We loved the G Pad and even considered it the best tablet with Android of 2013, so this is a very solid device, worthy of an update or two. The version available is 4.4.2 KitKat and you can get it by accessing Settings, then About Tablet and Update Center. Then go to Software Update and Check for Update.

The package takes up 412.45 MB of storage and erases all personal info, so be wary! The folks who tried the update said it latest about an hour (kind of a lot) and went smoothly. Reports say that the device feels faster now, browses faster and does faster app switching. Now there’s a transparent Search bar available, the immersive mode, cloud printing and the other features associated to KitKat.
