Lexand, a brand I haven’t heard of till now, that may be popular in Eastern Europe has released 5 new slates in Russia. The newcomers are the 7 inch A702 and A711 units, the 7.85 inch A11, 8 inch A802 and 10.1 inch A1002.
These devices rely on various hardware platforms from Qualcomm, MediaTek, Allwiner and Huawei. These devices are heavily targeted as in-car units. The Lexand A1002 and A702 models are based on a 4 core Allwinner Boxchip A31S processor and run Android 4.2. The screen resolution is the same: 1280 x 800 pixels. Lexand A1002 and A702 are made of metal and the 7 inch slate is pretty slim at 7.5 mm.
Lexand A802 features a screen diagonal of 8 inches with a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels and the slate has a metal housing. It runs Android 4.1 and it’s based on a 4 core Huawei K3V2 CPU. This model comes with a GPS receiver and moving further, we find the Lexand A811, a tablet with a 7.85 inch screen and a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels. The CPU inside is a 4 core MediaTek MT8389 and we also find a 3G modem with support for voice calls.
Lexand A711 packs a 7 inch display with a 1024 x 600 pixel resolution and a 2 core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 CPU. Prices will range from $185 to $247.
