Every week we learn about a new child-friendly tablet and this week’s model is the Kurio Telekids TAB, shown below. This new model is for sale in Netherlands and this is in fact the seventh Kurio branded model that reaches the Dutch market.
It comes with a protective rubber case, available in several color choices. The Telekids brand is featured proeminently and in spite of the name, there’s no TV channel or service associated with the device. In the end all we get is a 7 inch Android model with a special section for children. The software area features an Internet filter and a special kid-friendly app store, the Kurio App Store.
A nice feature of the Telekids TAB is the Motion one, that relies on the camera to play games similar to the ones on the Nintendo Wii. The moves you make trigger certain in game actions. The product is certainly on the lower end side of the spectrum, with a 1024 x 600 pixel resolution, a dual core Intel Clover Trail processor, clocked at 1.2 GHz, 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of storage. There’s also a microSD card slot, a 0.3 Mp front camera and a 2 MP back shooter.
WiFi and Android 4.4 round up the specs list of the model, that’s priced at just 99 euros.
