Japanese carrier KDDI has debuted a new tablet, the Qua Tab 01 model, that’s made by Kyocera and it will be available from July 24th. This product is priced at $304, but there will also be an option with a cheaper price and monthly contract.
This is a LTE model, that comes with WiMax 2+ support and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop. Inside the slate there’s a 64 bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, an octa core unit clocked up to 1.5 GHz. Upfront we find an 8 inch LCD display with Full HD resolution, plus a 2 MP front shooter and at the back a 5 MP main camera. The LTE flavour here is Category 4, with a download speed of up to 150 Mbps.
Bluetooth 4.1 and WiFi are in the mix too, plus 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage. The case of the slate is dust proof and waterproof, according to the IPX5 and IPX7 standards.
