Who better to reveal some solid sales info than eBay, the most famous online auction service? Apparently, during the first two weeks on the market, the new Apple tablet sold a bit under 12,000 units via eBay. 35% of these went to international customers who couldn’t wait for the launch of the device in their countries and wanted one from the US.

65% international customers purchased the original iPad on eBay, showing much more love the older device. Canada and Russia seem to have a public that’s particularly fond of the slate, each with about 500 units purchased. Japan, the UK and Hong Kong got around 350 units, while Australia bought 317 iPads last year and a mere 110 iPad 2s this year.

The most popular version was the 16GB WiFi-only iPad 2, that stood for 30% of all of the device’s sales. Apple didn’t release the official iPad 2 sales figures, yet…
