After the iPad 2 announcement yesterday, we were pretty impressed by Apple’s new toy, however there were some details missing from its specs list, like the amount of RAM it comes with. Considering that the iPhone 4 received a boost to 512MB RAM when it was launched last year, some more RAM for the iPad 2 would have been welcome.

However, Apple didn’t say one word about this feature. Meanwhile, Gizmodo checked out the device in a London demo after the announcement and when they asked about RAM, the person showing the slate mentioned that 256MB are available. However, the person’s supervisor decided not to comment on this matter when asked again.

Meanwhile, Apple’s specifications page says nothing about RAM. Should we wait for the iPad 2 teardown before learning something about this feature? 256MB would be a huge disappointment, that’s for sure…
