The iFive Mini 3 is a tablet that catches your eye with a UI that borrows heavily from Metro, through some interesting tiles. In spite of that, it’s Android that’s putting the device in motion, now Win 8.

The product comes with a Rockchip RK3188 quad core processor at 1.6 GHz, 1 GB of RAM and Mali 400 MP4 GPU. There’s Android 4.2.x on board and the slate measures 6.5 mm in thickness. iFive Mini 3 weighs 250 grams, being very light even for a 7.85 inch slate. There’s a 4100 mAh battery on board, with the promise of about 6 hours of video playback and 5 hours of web browsing.

This can be seen as an iPad Mini rival, since it has a diagonal of 7.85 inches and resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels. The screen is an IPS with wide angles and 4:3 aspect ratio, plus 10 finger multitouch. There’s WiFi on board, Bluetooth, 16 GB of storage and microSD. In the camera area we get a 5 MP back shooter and a 2 MP front camera. No idea what the price is, but I’m expecting sub $250.
