IFA 2014 is on folks! And with it comes the first announcement, the one of the Lenovo Tab S8. This newcomer is an 8 inch slate with a Full HD display and a $199 price tag. We already knew this model was coming, courtesy of a few leaks that appeared online.
This midranger has debuted in Berlin today and it comes with a 16:10 IPS panel, a quad core Intel Z3745 SoC, clocked at 1.86 GHz, 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage. The front panel includes two stereo speakers, a 1.6 MP camera and strangely this model doesn’t come with a microSD card slot. We’ve got an 8 MP cam at the back, Android 4.4 as the OS, most likely customized with Lenovo’s UI.
The device is pretty thin, at 7.9 mm and it will be available in blue, yellow or white. Dolby acoustics and a 4290 mAh battery (Li-Ion) round up the specs list, with the latter offering around 7 hours of usage time. Lenovo Tab S8 weighs 299 grams and there will also be a 3G/LTE version down the road.
