Huawei is giving its flagship tablet lineup a luxury twist. The company has launched the Gold Collector’s Edition of the MatePad Pro 12.2 (2025) in China, marking the first sale of this premium variant since the original model debuted in July. The tablet comes in a single configuration with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, priced at 7,799 yuan (around $1,095).
The new edition keeps the same core specs that made the MatePad Pro 12.2 one of Huawei’s most advanced tablets yet. It features a 12.2-inch dual-layer OLED display with a 2800 x 1840 resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, P3 wide color gamut, and HDR Vivid certification. The setup includes a 50MP main camera and an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, while the 8MP front camera handles calls and conferences. Powering the experience is a 10,100mAh battery that charges up to 85% in just 40 minutes. It’s also Huawei’s first tablet with Wi-Fi 7 support and offers one-step unlocking for added convenience. Stylus, keyboard, and mouse accessories are fully supported.
Launching alongside it is the MatePad Mini Collector’s Edition, a smaller but equally premium tablet available in Universal Red with Huawei’s PaperMatte display. It comes in 16GB/512GB and 16GB/1TB configurations, priced at 5,999 yuan (~$845) and 6,499 yuan (~$915) respectively.
The MatePad Mini features a flexible OLED full-screen panel with an ultra-narrow 2.99mm bezel, 16:10 aspect ratio, and 1,800-nit peak brightness. The PaperMatte coating reduces ambient light interference by up to 99%, improving comfort for long reading sessions. A 32MP front camera brings RAW-quality portraits and beautification tools, while a 6,400mAh battery supports 66W SuperCharge.
Both Collector’s Editions emphasize craftsmanship and premium build quality, aimed at users who want Huawei’s top-tier hardware wrapped in an exclusive design.
