Huawei announced yesterday that it was scheduling a press event for July 27th, meant to bring us HarmonyOS 3.0.. It will take place in China and today we learn that there will also be hardware unveiled during said event. Apparently a new generation of MatePad Pro tablets will come up.

The teaser image above refers to a “MatePad Pro 11”, meaning that the slate will have an 11 inch screen. Unlike the previous MatePad Pro model, the MatePad Pro 11 will come with a circular camera module, similar to the Huawei Mate phone series. The device appears to be very sleek judging by the teaser image, which by the way also shows the Power button with a red accent and also stereo speakers. An infrared emitter may also appear.

As HarmonyOS 3.0 gets unveiled on that day, we may see it running on this device. It comes with the motto “One As All, All As One”, meaning we could get more cross device communication features. A 3C certification from back in June already confirmed that the device would have 40W Huawei Supercharge technology and 4G connectivity. Two models, codenamed GOT-AL09 and GOT-AL19 received 3C certification and one of them is definitely the MatePad Pro 11.

We expect stylus support, 8 or 12 GB of RAM, quad or even octa speakers, plus a 120 Hz 2K display. A powerful Kirin CPU would be nice, but we’re probably stuck with a 4G Snapdragon.
