Huawei wasn’t happy with one European event on May 9th, so it’s holding another one on May 18th, this time in China. That’s where the new Huawei Watch 4 will appear, together with MateBook laptops and also the new MatePad Air tablet. Today that tablet has leaked, in pictures and specs.
The MatePad Air leaked images come from blogger “Tech Wizard” and showcase an elegant rounded body design, with a single back camera and flash. The silver color version provides a premium look and feel and it’s easy to spot the Huawei logo centered on the back.
This is promoted as a versatile and lightweight productivity unit for youngsters and should compete with the Apple iPad Air. One of its standout features is the 3:2 aspect ratio, which is a premiere for Huawei slates. It’s shown on an 11.5 inch LCD display with a 2.8K resolution and vibrant visuals.
The device has a very slim profile, going as low as 6.4 mm in thickness. Inside we find the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor, which coupled with Huawei’s proprietary game frame insertion technology improves gaming experiences. There’s also support for 144 Hz refresh rate in games like “Game for Peace”, “Honour of Kings and 90 Hz in “Genshin Impact”.
The slate has an 8300 mAh battery and 40W fast charging. On Thursday, May 18th we’ll learn more about the price and features.
