We recently learned that Sony is preparing a 6 inch device with quad core CPU and now another Asian company is doing the same thing. I’m talking about Huawei, who decided to create a 6.1 inch 1080p device with quad core CPU, according to a recent rumor and leak. Sadly we have no pictures to go with said leak…
The device sports a 6.1 inch 1080p screen, a quad core K3V3 1.8 GHz processor, 2 GB of RAM and a 4000 mAh battery, if the rumors are true. The same big phablet runs Android Jelly Bean and measures 9.9 mm in thickness. The name for now is Huawei Ascend Mate and I expect this to be a cheaper and bigger alternative to the Samsung Galaxy Note II. I’m not sure if I should have faith in the quad core CPU inside, that could be one made by Huawei, just like the one of the Ascend D Quad model.
I have to remind you that the model was unveiled at MWC 2012 and has failed to show up in stores in parts of the world, as promised. Also, its benchmarks were not that impressive, so I hope this new CPU is better… Would you buy such a huge device?
