We’ve heard that HTC is preparing a quad core tablet for MWC 2012, but considering that over the past days Acer and Lenovo were part of leaks that revealed similar products, HTC had to increase the stake. Thus, now we get to meet the HTC Quattro the company’s first quad core slate.

Unveiled by CEO Peter Chou, this device comes with a 10.1 inch display with a 1280 x 768 pixel resolution and an AP30 Tegra 3 system on chip from Nvidia. This is the same processing solution as the one on the rumored HTC Edge quad core smartphone. The Quattro comes with 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, Bluetooth 4.0, 5GHz WiFi and lots of sensors.

The device will be under 9mm in thickness and will supposedly support Beats technology. This tablet comes with a pair of speakers, a rear 2MP camera that unbelievably promises HD video capture and a 72p capable front camera with 1.3MP resolution and supporting videocall technology. HTC Quattro brings forth a new version of the HTC Watch service, this time in HD and there’s also a complementary Dropbox account for the users.

Odds are great that Quattro will come with a stylus and the HTC Scribe pen input technology, like its predecessors. Expect a release in early 2012.
