HP just launched a new tablet in India, the HP Pro 8 model, that comes with an 8 inch screen and a 6000 mAh battery. This device is priced at $302 and it’s meant for the enterprise and governmental areas.

It supports voice calling and this product is tailor made for India, from what we understood. It’s fit for use outdoor and it comes with 15 hours of battery life for field workers. It’s dust and water resilient and even 4G enabled. 4G tablets are a big deal in India, as the latest surveys and studies have shown. The HP Pro 8 is also highly customizable, with financial features and schemes.

The device is supposed to be used in the food industry, in the Public Distribution System and monitoring of healthcare initiatives. The slate has a sunlight readable screen for better outdoor use, an iris and fingerprint scanner for the Aadhaar system authentication and a thermal printer and magnetic strip reader for the financial transactions.

Specs include an 8 inch HD screen, a quad core MediaTek CPU, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage and a microSD card slot. There’s a microSIM slot and a 6000 mAh battery in the mix as well.
