The Google Pixel Tablet has been leaked and teased for quite a while now and it’s one step closer to becoming real, as a new leak sheds light on Google’s tablet strategy. Some Google Pixel Tablet images have emerged and we learn that the Pro version has been cancelled.

Google did showcase a tablet at I/O 2022, which was held back in May 2022. Then followed some reports talking about a regular model and a Pro model. Now Android researcher and tipster Kuba Wojciechowski reveals that there will be only one version of the slate, meaning that the Pro model has been canned. The Pixel Tablet and Pixel Tablet Pro were codenamed “Tangor” and “Tangorpro” respectively. The first gen Tensor chip and Tensor G2 power them.

The display on the only model available is 2560 x 1600 pixel panel with a RT4539 LED driver. It’s basically just an LCD. The Pixel Tablet is also said to offer 8 GB of Samsung made LPDDR5 RAM and 256 GB of Kioxia UFS storage. It will also be using a side mounted fingerprint scanner. The images shown here are production units of the Pixel Tablet shared by a tipster.

The screen will be an 11 incher and Google is said to offer two kinds of docks for the device: the Korlan/K6 dock with a speaker and the Yuzu/Y4 dock with support for charging.
