Eastern European nation Romania has no less than 3 big players on the local tablet market: Allview, Evolio and E-Boda. Obviously, they don’t actually make their own tablets, but rather they buy unbranded slates from China and apply their branding. So far 99% of their devices were single core units with Mali 400 GPUs and sub 300 euro prices tags. Today we see one of the first dual core models, the Evolio Aria.

Aria features a dual core 1.5 GHz CPU and runs Android 4.0 ICS, relying on a 9.7 inch 1024 x 768 pixel display. The device also offers a HDMI port, microUSB, audio jack, GPS, WiFi and Bluetooth. The CPU here is an Amlogic 8726 MX one and we also get 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage on the device. The GPU is yet again Mali 400 MP and the tablet offers a 2MP cam at the back and a front 0.3MP shooter. The product weighs 600 grams and measures 9.9mm in thickness.

This feels like the spiritual successor of the Evolio Neura 9.7 inch slate from last summer. That one was a bit overpriced, dangerously in the area of 400 euros or more. This device will probably be priced around 300 euros, since any other price tag is a suicide on the local market.
