At an event in New York Dell announced two new Android slates dubbed Dell Venue 7 and Dell Venue 8. They’re taking a page out of the HP playbook, since that company also unveiled a dozen of Android slates or so two weeks ago.
The company said a while ago that it would resurrect the Venue brand and so they did, but with Android this time. Both newcomers have low prices associated to them and they’re powered by an Intel Z2580 2 GHz dual core Clover Trail CPU. The Venue 7 offers only 16 GB of onboard storage and the Venue 8 is said to be offered with 32 GB of storage.
External memory expansion is available via microSD and the Venue 8 comes with an 8 inch display, as the name indicates. Both IPS panels here offer 1280 x 800 pixel resolutions. These new Android tablets are priced at $149.99 in the case of the 7 incher and $179.99 in the case of the 8 incher. Dell will release both models on October 18th with Android 4.2.2.
