Cubot X15 is a big phablet, that’s now up for preorder, priced at $146 and featuring a 16 megapixel camera at the back. The device runs Android 5.1 Lollipop and clearly stands out though the quality of its specs, versus the appealing price.
The handset is up for preorder on EverBuying.net and this Cubot X15 is a pretty good looking phablet. It feels a bit like the Huawei Mate 7, with its unibody metallic design and slim bezels. The Cubot X15 relies on a Full HD 5.5 inch IPS screen, with 2.5D glass and inside we find a quad core MediaTek MT6735 processor, clocked at 1.3 GHz, plus a Mali T720 GPU and 2 GB of RAM.
16 GB of storage are available as well, plus a microSD card slot with support for an extra 32 GB of storage. This is a dual SIM unit and at the back we find what we could call the selling point: a 16 megapixel camera with F/1.8 aperture, which is basically what the famous LG G4 offers. Upfront there’s an 8 megapixel shooter with F/2.0 aperture.
As far as connectivity goes, GPS is here, plus USB OTG, a microUSB 2.0 port, HotKnot and Bluetooth 4.0, plus LTE. Cubot X15 packs all of these within a 6.9 mm thick device, weighing 150 grams. The device is up for preorder priced at $165.99 till August 15th, then the price will increase to $232 and the shipping is free. However, you can get it cheaper from EverBuying.net, by using a discount code: EBX15.
It takes the price down to $146, which is very appealing for a device with a camera similar to the one of the LG G4. Another nifty option is the Cubot X12 from the same maker, priced even lower at $79.99, also on EverBuying, right here. The offer starts tomorrow.
