If you want a reasonably sized tablet with an elongated format and the ability to make phone calls, you may as well go with the new Cube TALK8. This Chinese model is pictured below and it has been freshly launched.

It has an earpiece at the top, allowing you to chat with people via SIM and a microphone at the bottom, I suspect. This newcomer comes from Cube, a pretty well known Chinese device maker and a pretty respected brand. The Cube TALK8 features an 8 inch 1280 x 800 pixel display, a quad core MediaTek MT8382 processor, clocked at 1.3 GHz, as well as 8 GB of storage and 1 GB of RAM.

On the camera front we get a 5 megapixel main camera and a front webcam with a resolution of 0.3 MP. Inside the slate there’s a 4200 mAh battery and this model stands out through the ability to place calls on China’s Unicom network. Also, the price is around $96 so it’s a budget slate in the end, one that replaces a tablet and phone, combining the two.
