These days in Taiwan, a new exposition took place, the Display Taiwan 2014 show where the guys from MobileGeeks where at the site. With this opportunity, they found a stand of the CPT Taiwanese company (Chunghwa Picture Tubes) that unveiled a couple of transparent displays for smartphone or tablet devices.
Among these new displays there where 3 different sizes: 11.4-inch and a 9-inch panel destined for tablet devices and a 4.7-inch display for smartphones. However, these products offer pretty low resolutions, more precisely WSVGA, WVGA and WVGA in order of the screen sizes.
Also, thanks to such a technology that allows the display to be transparent, upcoming devices will be pretty thick, so we can’t think right now at a slim transparent piece of glass. We get to know the fact that this transparent technology is taking the ambient light and uses it to brighten the display. It remains to see how the technology will improve in the future. Do you find attractive the idea of a transparent screen on your smartphone or tablet?
