Alcatel was present at CES 2013, where they unveiled a bunch of tablets, including a 7 inch model, plus a phablet and some smartphones. They also showed the public an interesting 8 inch tablet called Alcatel One Touch Tab 8, that you can check out below.
This device is an 8 inch IPS slate with a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels and powered by a dual core 1.6 GHz processor, accompanied by 1 GB of RAM. Other feats include 8 GB of NAND flash memory, expanded via microSD, as well as a 2 megapixel rear camera, a VGA front camera and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. If this sounds familiar, know that Alcatel also announced the One Touch Tab 7 HD, that features almost identical specs, except for the display.
$179 is the price here, which is justified for a lower end slate, if you ask me. The product will be available in Q3 2013 and I wonder if we’ll see it sold under the current form or adopted by some carrier, rebranded and sold for close to nothing on contract. Would you fancy it then?
