The Alcatel One Touch Brand has received some traction and fame in USA and now it’s starting to turn into a more evolved series of products. After dabbling into tablets, Alcatel is getting into phablets, as the new model showcased at CES 2013 shows.

The new model is called Alcatel One Touch Scribe HD and seems to involve a stylus pen. The phablet features a 5 inch HD IPS display, a 1.2 GHz quad core MediaTek MT6589 chipset and an 8 megapixel camera, plus 1 GB of RAM and a microSD card slot, plus Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. One Touch Scribe HD will come in a variety of colours, including black, white, red and yellow.

This product will come to USA in Q2 for a pretty affordable $397 before taxes and subsidies. The device doesn’t look half bad and the uniformity of the back and general design make me think of one of those lower end Lumias from Nokia. The pen looks pretty average, like the type of generic stylus that you can get in any electronics store. We’ll have to get around to test the device before judging it further!
