Aside from palmtops and watches, Casio also makes a rugged handset and apparently a pretty expensive tablet, that we’ve just found out about. I’m talking about the Casio Paper Writer V-N500, intended for business professionals and priced at $2,500.

The device comes with a front 5 megapixel camera, that supports document scanning. You can place documents inside the included cover, that’s also water and shock resistant. The product will debut in Japan next month and there’s no indication of it leaving its home country. Paper Writer V-N500 features a 10.1 inch screen with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, while inside there’s a dual core OMAP CPU at 1.5 GHz. Android 4.0 ICS is the OS of choice here.

Paper Writer also supports symbol designation to dictate where you want a document to be saved. As an example, you can link one folder to the dollar sign symbol and your financial reports will be saved to that folder. This price is huge frankly speaking, since it can get you 10 of those 16 GB Nexus 7 slates.
