US carrier AT&T has announced a new 8 inch tablet, dubbed Trek 2 HD, a LTE supporting device priced at just $150 unlocked. Or you can pay just $1 for it with a 2 year contract. Monthly pricing options are available with a $7.50 tag attached.
The slate packs an 8 inch 720p display and relies on a quad core Snapdragon CPU, clocked at 1.5 GHz. While official sources don’t mention the CPU, it’s probably the Snapdragon 615. 16 GB of storage are offered here, plus a microSD card slot, a 5 MP main camera and a front cam with the same resolution. Trek 2 HD relies on a 4600 mAh battery and it’s supposed to offer 10.5 hours of video playback.
AT&T claims that the device is meant for entertainment, so you can enjoy your favourite video content while on the go. The product will be up for purchase on August 5th, with Android Marshmallow preinstalled. Dual front facing speakers with Dolby Audio have been included too.
