It’s going to be a busy pair of days, as this week we’ve got Google I/O 2015 and then next week Computex 2015. At the latter we’re expecting Samsung and ASUS to unveil new tablets and the ASUS products are partially known already. We’re talking about the ZenPad slates, that leaked a few times already in specs and pictures. Today we get a new render.
The ZenPad is shown with a new 4:3 aspect ratio, which is very Apple-like, but we’ve seen quite a few tablet makers adopting this idea. Acer has been using it and Samsung has released the Galaxy Tab A series with the same approach. We also seem to be getting front facing speakers, which should offer good acoustics. Bezels are a bit on the large side, to be frank.
The back of the slate seems made of a soft touch material, with a portion resembling leather. The On/Off button and volume buttons are mounted on the side, as well as the microSD card slot. There will be a 7 inch and 8 inch version of the product, with a 1024 x 600 resolution and 2048 x 1536 pixel resolution respectively. Can’t wait to see more of these Intel-based slates!
