ASUS just debuted a new Vivobook laptop, a model that comes with Windows 10 S, but the good news is that you also have alternatives. The newcomer is named ASUS VivoBook W202 and it’s a notebook that’s supposed to rival Chromebooks.

Since this is a Windows 10 S machine, you should know that you can upgrade the OS to Windows 10 Pro or Home with ease. Now let’s get to the features, as the device comes with an 11.6 inch 1366 x 768 pixel display, with a 180 degree hinge and a semi-rugged design. That one is offered courtesy of rubber-lined edges and corners. After all, this is a Back to School machine and the little ones may get rough with it.

The keyboard is resistant to spills and inside the laptop we find a 38 Wh battery. VivoBook W202 weighs 2.7 pounds and offers modern connectivity options like WiFi ac, Bluetooth 4.1, two USB 3.0 ports and HDMI jack. Stereo speakers are also here and making it all tick is an Intel Celeron N3350 dual core processor, of the Apollo Lake variety.

There are also 4 GB of RAM here, 64 GB of eMMC storage and probably a card slot too. The starting price for the Windows 10 S model is $280. If you pay $300, you get the same config, but this time with Windows 10 Home. Pay $50 more and you get Windows 10 Pro. A higher end version with an Intel Pentium N4200 quad core CPU is also ready for debut.

It bumps the RAM to 4 or 8 GB and storage to 128 GB.
