An ASUS official recently came clean on the fact that the company will finally release the firs quad core tablet. Transformer Prime on December 8th. A couple of other dates such as the 19th were thrown around by rumors over the past days, but they were gibberish. However, the real debut of the slate takes place on December 1st, that’s today, in Taiwan.

The December 8th debut date applies to the USA, while Europeans will have to wait till January to get their hands on the goods. We’ve been waiting for this Tegra 3 tablet with 10.1 inch display and keyboard dock since this summer and it was delayed a bunch of times. First, it was rumored to come in August, then October, November and now December…

The 1280 x 800 slate comes with IPS+ Gorilla Glass display, a mini HDMI port, an elegant design and a battery life that should provide 12 hours of usage, that’s really huge nowadays. There’s also an 8 megapixel camera at the back and if the product interests you, know that it will retail for $499 and $599 for the 32GB and 64GB units respectively.
