ASUS has been rumored for a while now to be preparing a dual boot device, with Windows and Android on board and now we have new intel on that product. This device was actually announced a while ago, but Google pressured ASUS to kill it and now they’re back with a similar endeavour.
The newcomer is dubbed Transformer Book V and it will feature a 12.5 inch display, a detachable keyboard dock and its format will be very much like the one of the ASUS Transformer Book T300 Chi. The Book V will incorporate an Android phone that can be docked into the tablet part, like the PadFone X. The phone part will integrate an Intel Moorefield chip, while the dock will have an Intel Core processor.
The handset packs 2 GB of RAM, while the bigger unit opts for 4 GB. Storage is 64 GB for the phone and double for the laptop, so this is a very interesting new concept that combines the best things ASUS has produced over the past years. No idea what the price will be, but I expect it to be pretty big. Computex 2014 may mark its debut.
