It’s been a while since we’ve witnessed a leak of an ASUS device and now the Transformer 2 comes in through a benchmark leak. This model uses quad core Tegra 3 processor and has the codename TF300T. This is a mystery device, since we already saw an upgraded Transformer TF700T Prime at CES 2012…
This next generation tablet is seen as a replacement for the original ASUS Eee Pad Transformer, in the more affordable price range. The NenaMark 2 benchmark results shown in this article prove that we’re dealing with Tegra 3 slate with a 1280 x 752 pixel resolution and Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich as the OS. But still… what’s different from the OG Prime?! It may be the 3G support that ASUS didn’t actually confirm for the Prime or may be a new case design…
Meanwhile, we have the ASUS MeMo tablet announced at CES as alternative, with pretty much the same specs, but also a 7 inch display. We’ll see the mystery TF300T appearing at MWC 2012, alongside the ASUS PadFone and the evolved MeMo unit, perhaps in two different versions. Till then, let the rumors flow!
