ASUS Italy started sending invitations to the Italian press event meant to unveil PadFone 2, the second generation of the famous tablet/phone hybrid. Much has been speculated about the second PadFone and also we’ve seen some leaks, but today it appears that we have some solid info about the battery.
I have to remind you that the debut event takes place on October 16th 2012 in Milan and Taipei, Taiwan at the same time. From what was leaked till now we learned that the new PadFone will feature a quad core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2 GB of RAM, a 4.7 inch Super IPS+ Display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and a 13 megapixel camera at the back. PadFone 2 will also sport a 2140 mAh battery and come with LTE connectivity. It appears that the newcomer will have the NFC capable chip included in the battery, something that we’ve seen device makers doing for a while now.
Only 12 days left till the big unveiling event in Milan, where we’ll see what the new generation of PadFone is all about and how well the smartphone integrates into the tablet this time. I wonder if they made the device thinner this time…
