Remember when back at MWC 2012 it was rumored that an ASUS official spilled the beans on Android Jellybean? Well, now here’s another ASUS representative once again contributing to a major leak. He not only confirmed the rumored Google Nexus Tablet, presumably called Nexus 7, but also the AT&T versions of the Pad Infinity LTE and PadFone.
The 7 inch Nexus slate will be based on the Nvidia Tegra 3 quad core processor and will be made by ASUS, apparently. The product will be priced in the $150 – $250 range, maybe somewhere in the middle, at $200, considering the Nvidia Kay platform idea. Also, we know that this Nexus tablet will be launched at Google I/O at the end of the current month, as confirmed by the same official. He actually mentioned “by the end of June”, but that can only mean one thing. The same source claims that the tablet is “awesome”, which is something I would have guessed for myself.
Continuing the leaks, the official said that the PadFone is coming stateside on AT&T and no other carrier seems interested at the moment. Things are said to be going slow on this front and you should also know that the ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity TF700 will be coming by the end of June, in both a WiFi and LTE version, also sold by AT&T. The tablet will go for $499, which is probably the price for the WiFi only version without keyboard dock.
