The ASUS FonePad series is ready to get a new member, this time one that will be really affordable. Usually a FonePad is a larger phone with a 7 inch diagonal and reasonably good specs, plus the ability to make phone calls. Now the model FonePad K012 has leaked…
Prices are usually around $249 for these devices, but this newcomer may take them down to a new level. The product is called the ASUS FonePad K012 and it appeared recently at the Chinese regulatory site TENAA, as well as the GFXBench website. There’s even a set of details regarding the specs, that include a 7 inch 1024 x 600 pixel display, a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom Z2560 processor, 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of storage.
There’s also Android 4.3 as the OS, PowerVR SGC 544MP2 graphics and a 2 megapixel rear camera. We’ve got a 0.3 megapixel front shooter and in case you noticed, yes this model does have a lower resolution than its predecessors. The rest of the specs of the device remain pretty much unchanged. I’m guessing the price could be lower than $200 or even $150 as a surprise.
