In spite of July not being a traditional month to launch products in, ASUS decided to debut the ZenPad 3S 10 slate, at least locally. This is supposed to be a solid iPad Pro 9.7 rival and it surely looks the part.
It’s a 9.7 incher with a 2K resolution and LED backlighting. ASUS ZenPad 3S 10 packs an aluminum body and measures between 5.18 and 7.15 mm, while weighing 430 grams. The difference in thickness comes from the slight camera bulk and speaking of which, this model has an 8 megapixel main unit and a front 5 MP shooter. There’s also a Home button in the mix, with a fingerprint scanner integrated.
The slate supports ASUS Z Stylus active stylus and its screen has True2Life display tech. This technology enhances picture contrast, sharpness and brightness, making images look better. Dual speakers with amplifiers are here, while the brains of the device are a MediaTek MT8176 CPU, a hexa core unit at 2.1 GHz, together with 4 GB of RAM.
There’s also 32 GB of storage and a microSD card slot, while the battery is a 5900 mAh one with fast charge 3.0. ASUS opted for an USB Type C port and included GPS, too. The store debut date is sometime in August and the expected price is $341.
