With all the talk about the ASUS Transformer Prime and the likes of the PadFone, everyone forgot about the MeMo, an interesting 7 inch tablet that was being detailed ever since June. The selling point of this unit was a 3D remote control, that could be used as a phone and featured a transparent glass display.

During CeBIT, the 3D-less version of the slate/remote duo appeared and now it seems that the MeMo will receive Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich as the OS of choice. The 7 inch tablet is now expected to debut in January, bundled with the MeMic Bluetooth companion, used to make calls and listen to music, while behaving as a media remote.

ASUS has been certainly one of the most original Android tablet makers for the past years, since they dared to defy the competition with original form factors, that include a tablet with a sliding keyboard, a tablet with a phone inside, a tablet with detachable keyboard and now this slate with media remote companion.
