Over the past weeks we’ve seen Android 4.1 Jelly Bean reaching various devices through more or less official ports/hacks and now ASUS comes out and says that the new OS will be available on the entire Transformer family and the Eee Pad Slider, pictured below.

The ASUS Eee Pad Slider was one of the most original tablets we’ve reviewed last year, thanks to a sliding form factor and a pretty comfortable keyboard. This is yet another big thumbs up for ASUS, after they were among the first companies to update their products to Android 4.0 ICS, unlike Samsung or Motorola, two bigger names on paper, but slow when it comes to updates. ASUS gave ICS to the Transformer Prime in January and the TF101 in February and last week we saw Jelly Bean running on the Transformer Pad 300, unofficially.

An ASUS representative at a press conference in the Netherlands was quoted as saying that the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer and the Eee Pad Slider won’t receive Jelly Bean. This rumor started to get a buzz around it and finally ASUS Germany went ahead and denied it, while saying that the Android 4.1 update will be available on the Prime, Transformer Pad 300, Transformer Infinity TF700 and the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer TF101, as well as the Slider.
