Two of the largest UK retailers are ready to fight in the tablet segment, as Argos announces the MyTablet model, taking on Tesco’s Hudl slate. The MyTablet is shown below and fits within the 100 pound segment.
The Hudl model came to the UK late last month and offered decent hardware for 119 quid, which is about $190. It packed a 7 inch screen with a resolution of 1440 x 900 pixels and adopted a 1.5 GHz quad core processor, as well as a quad core Mali 400 GPU. Also it came with 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage.
Tesco is saying that it sold about 35k tablets in just two days. Now Argos came with the MyTablet model with a 7 inch screen with a 1024 x 600 pixel resolution, 8 GB of storage and a price tag of 99 GBP, which is around $160. Battery life is said to be quite poor in this case sadly. If these models don’t cut it, you can add a bit of money and get the 199 GBP Nexus 7.
